| Judging by objects which have been discoverd, the Maya were skilled in wood and stone carving, as well as mural painting and stucco molding. Potters, meanwhile, besides producing earthenware pots, made polychrome vessels illustated with epic scenes of the supernatural, which were used in funeral ceremonies.

Another material used was jade, which was traded throughout the region. It was carved and polished to produce plaques, figures and earrings. They also made plates of flint and obsidian to be buried in holy places as offerings to the gods. |
